The Inside Track on Clean: Shoes or No Shoes?

Wow Matthew. This is really a lot of material. I did not think you would find so much stuff on the subject.

For some reason, it is a topic of fierce contention on the internet (though this seems to be the only blog dedicated to the subject).

As I understand, removing shoes is the norm in Canada. However, in the USA, there is much diversity over the issue, with Hawaiians, North-Westerners and Asian people in favour of Shoes-off, while people in the Southern States would not dream of being parted from their shoes at the door.

Here in the UK, it is a non-issue. People are just too polite to expect visitors to remove their shoes.
