Broken Glass

Walking through the streets of Worcester today, I trod on some broken glass. A big fragment got stuck on my shoe. It came off easily. However, when glass breaks, parts of it shatter into tiny pieces, many too small to see.

Those tiny fragments get embedded in shoes very easily. What effect do you think those tiny fragments of glass in your shoes might have on carpets or laminate flooring? Do you see where I am going?

True, and it's happened to me many times that a piece of gum gets stuck on my shoe. At times I immediately notice, but it's happened that I've only noticed once I took my shoes off at the door.

There is so much gum on the streets. Not good for carpets at all.

On the subject of broken glass, if it gets off someone's shoes and onto the floor, it could also cause injury to someone who walks around shoeless as well as children who may be playing on the floors.

Quite so. Thanks for your comment.
