Call the matron!

I was asked by a nurse to speak to a patient yesterday.

I noticed that though the patient was lying on the hospital bed, she had her shoes on. Evidently the nurses have no problem with patients putting their dirty shoes up on the beds.

You would think the patient would have been more comfortable reclining with her shoes off.

Is it any wonder that MRSA is rife in our hosptials?!

I am not sure that it necessarilly poses much of an MRSA risk (patients wear their own clothes on the beds). I don't feel qualified to say.

The nurses do have a tough task ahead of them in preventing infections.
