No Excuse

In the hospital staff room, some nurses and I were watching a talk show. The hostess had propped up her feet on the sofa with her high heeled shoes still on. I said:

'She's got her shoes on the sofa. That's very bad behaviour.'

One of the nurses replied:

'It's her show. She can do what she likes.'

That's no excuse in my book.

I realize that the following is rather off-topic (and for that I apologize), but I heard that David Cameron won the Prime Minister election.

Isn't he the one you wrote that letter to about considering a "shoe-off" policy? Just out of curiosity, did he ever get back to you on that by any chance?

Ugh! Sorry, but "Prime Minister election" is so very wrong on too many levels to expand upon here :)

What I was really here to add is that it is pretty appalling behaviour whether one has a "shoes-off" policy as we know, understand and love here or not.

I do notice more TV ads subtly promoting shoe-free homes, but programmes in general do not, nor even show it as a remotely common thing, which is a shame given its obvious benefits.

In fact people lounging with their shoes all over the furniture on TV is far more common than with shoes off. Don't these people like to relax at home?!

MM, yes and no he did not get back, no idea if he read it himself. Somebody in the Conservative Central office did visit this blog around then, but that may have been somebody browsing during a coffee break.

It is bizarre, Kev.

I know that this is slightly off topic but as you've mentioned the UK general election, do you mind me asking what do you, as a Conservative Party supporter think of their new coalition government with the Liberal Democrats? Do you think it'll work?

I say if its your couch and you want to put your shoes on it, go ahead, just dont dare try that at my house.

Thanks for dropping in, Ms Givens. Have you visited before?

What is your view on shoes in homes?

Rich, I don't like the Liberal Democrats and I am not keen on any more political reform, but I think there is enough political will to make a stable and effective government.
