Lead Warning in St. Louis, Missouri

A sign in St. Louis, Missouri draws attention to the dangers of lead pollution on the streets and advises removal of shoes in homes.

I lived in St. Louis for 9 1/2 months (before circumstances beyond my control prompted me back to Kansas), but I don't recall ever seeing that sign.

I was living with my dad at the time. A little over three months into living together, we tried the whole shoes off thing in our then apartment in favor of slippers or less, but we both messed that up. (While we'd refrain from wearing shoes when not going somewhere, we didn't exactly leave them off until THE minute it was time to go anywhere nor did we take them off RIGHT at the door. My mom had talked about wanting to have a shoes off rule in her own home, but whether or not it'll ever happen remains to be seen.)

I imagine the sign is probably in some industrial district that is especially polluted.

*shrugs* I guess. If so, it was probably an area that I didn't have any cause to access or go through during my time there.

Or it was put up after you left, Dr. Watson.

Dr. Watson? LOL. Good one there, CF.

(In case you're curious, I moved there shortly after Christmas of 2008 and left somewhere around mid to late October 2009. I had traveled there various times though. Let's just say I found it easier to enjoy when I was visiting than when I actually lived there.)

Well in my country,Malaysia as a Malay ethnics,we must take off our shoes before enter a house.
I found its very disturbing and annoying to step on all those dirt outside and brings in the place where you eat, sleep and rest..if felt a colder, bedroom slipper will do with socks then
