Skins

The teen drama, Skins featured a shoeless party in the episode 'Pandora.' Removing shoes seemed to be presented as somewhat 'uncool' and cringeworthy in the episode.

I will not post a video, as some naughty things happen in the episode. When watching it on You Tube, I had to skip large parts of it out of decency and taste.

What i can suppose from the show descriptions it's not just once that Panda ask her friends to remove their shoes, but instead her usual way

Presumably.

There is a box for shoes and her mother is in her stocking feet.

Are you sure the episode is called "Panda" and not "Pandora"? The first place I went to to look up the episode was Wikipedia. (I wouldn't use that source for a formal paper, but I'll use it to look up some show details.) The episode was listed as "Pandora". Same is true in the search results leading to other sites. In the summary that I read in Wikipedia, the shoe thing isn't mentioned, but the Twister game is (which would explain the pieces for that game in one of the pictures).

An interesting point about China:
in the past, when the barbarian practice of foot bandaging was common, it was a kind of punishment for women there to be left without shoes in public;
now China is a country of common shoes-off etiquette at homes.
However, the sad case in the link IMHO sounds an echo of the barbarian past.

BTW, there are hundreds of home party English-spoken videos in youtube where people are shoeless by default (i mean which is not the tag) - it shows the practice is really getting common )

Yes, it probably is called Pandora.

There was Twister in it, but the girls attending the party were made to remove their shoes at the door.

one of the photos in the page: it's the noteworthy the canadian girl presents the socks as part of her party outfit )

I tend to think that socks don't look great with skirts, but at a casual occasion it can be forgiven.

I agree, CF, that just stockinged feet with a skirt are a perfect option

Even slippers would look better.

I'll NOT loose any chance "in future" to play twister at parties or casual meetings, it's a perfect encourage 4 people taking of their shoes XD

I suppose so. Though I am not sure that it is quite decent for men and women to get in such close proximity, if you will forgive my old fashioned morals.

Thanks for visiting.

socks with a skirt still can be a kind of special combination deliberately eclectic; slippers are supposed to have been provided by a host and are meaningless at all

A young woman in her twenties might be able to get away with wearing some bright tube socks with a skirt, but that would look disastrous on an older woman.

As for slippers, if you are a guest you can bring some of your own which match the outfit.

I don't recommend hosts providing slippers, unless they live in Eastern Europe or Asia where that is expected.

Thanks for the picture, Sandro. Actually, socks look awful with the skirt. I fully agree with you it must be either stockinged feet or barefoot.

You are welcome, Eldar
