Stay at Home Papa: Take Your Shoes Off At The Door (Jeremy Dyen)

Stay at Home Papa: Take Your Shoes Off At The Door (Jeremy Dyen)

This week, my blog was privileged by the visit of singer-songwriter, Jeremy Dyen, who also sees the merits of a shoes-off policy.

You can listen to his music at his Myspace page.

What an interesting blog. We are also a no shoes in the house family.
We keep booties that can be slipped over shoes for workmen and others who refuse to take them off.
The funny thing is that these people think we are rude to ask them to remove them. They are the ones bringing in all kinds of junk. At least the booties keep it from getting all over the house.
What really made me become firm about the no shoes rule was what happened at a friend's party.
She had a bunch of us, all adults, over for a dinner party, house tour, hanging out thing.
We walked throughout the house, shoes on, of course! After this, I noticed a funny smell and sure enough, when I had gotten out of my car, I had stepped in the present her dog had left on the grass by the curb.
I ran to the bathroom and tried to get it off as best as possible. When I came out, I retraced my steps and sure enough, there it was on her cream colored carpet, her tile kitchen floor - absolutely horrible!
It never would have happened if she had just asked all her guests to take off their shoes!!!
