I hope it's not that unusual for the couple considering the shoes off etiquette in Denmark and Scandinavian royals' relatively simple lifestyles.

I know removing shoes in homes is pretty common in Denmark, but then royals may not live exactly like everybody else, even in egalitarian Scandinavia

Yeah, I've seen those pictures before. They could be barefoot because the weather is warm. Who knows what they do in their regular home?

The pictures prove they don't find being depicted shoeless indoors as a regular Norwegian family for everyone to see it online unacceptable for their royal status. So, why not remove shoes to keep dirt outside? If I'm not mistaken, a Scandinavian prince met his future wife (a waitress or so) while staying in a regular town flat. It also hints they can lead a life close to common one.
